the Details

I’ve compiled a list of the questions I get asked the most. If I missed anything, please call, text, or email me.

  • Once you contact me, we can typically schedule a session within a week or two. If you prefer to plan further in advance, we’ll have a little more flexibility to get the exact date and time you want secured on my calendar. We’ll have a phone conversation about your expectations and any special requests you may have. I’ll be looking for details about location and time of day. I’ll follow up by sending you a contract with our date, time and location clearly listed. Once I receive your signed contract and the $250 deposit, your date is confirmed on my calendar.

  • I take pictures outdoors at the location of your choice when the light is ideal (early morning right after the sun rises or evening a little before the sun is setting). Upon special request, I will take indoor pictures, but only if the location provides proper natural light to ensure quality photos.

  • What to wear, what to wear what to wear. It’s the most popular question I get when it comes to family photo shoots. First and foremost, wear what’s comfortable! If it’s itchy, tight, out of a family member’s comfort zone, it will show. And not in a good way!

The easiest advice I have is to ask yourself these two questions: Do we look cohesive? Does everyone look comfortable and confident?

By cohesive I mean, is there an element that ties you all together? For some families it’s a color for others it’s a pattern or accessory. For example: a family might decide to all include a pop of red or black or denim in each of their outfits. Or, everyone may choose to wear a hat. Boots might be the thing that ties it all together. Or a pattern – stripes, polka dots or plaid could be the matching element. As long as you can find an element that seems to bring it all together it will really look professional.

Sometimes families choose a wardrobe that will really pop wherever they plan to display their family portrait. If you plan to hang it at your beach house…bathing suits/cover-ups, nautical attire or shorts and vibrant Polos would be a great choice. Planning to use it on a Holiday card? Warm layers and bulky sweaters might make more sense.

Think layers that can be easily added or removed to create a few different looks.

  • We’ll meet at the location you choose at the time and date of booking. I will be in charge of our time together. This helps you relax and helps me be certain our shoot stays on track we With me in charge, you won’t have to worry about making your kids look at the camera or say cheese. I’ll do the dirty work J. Sometimes I’ll even take the little ones away for a bit to get some great portraits. I promise to let you know if I need your help. The whole session lasts about an hour and is filled with talking and laughing and running around together. I have a pretty good feeling you’ll end up enjoying it!

  • Props are fun if you want them in your pictures. Snacks, sippy cups, or bottles for little ones are helpful to keep them relaxed and comfortable. (Bring bibs or something to protect their outfit.) Mostly you need to just bring energy, joy and excitement. Families who are relaxed and well-rested take the best photos.

  • I’ve always believed in a one price approach, but I’ve learned that everyone’s needs are so different. I charge between $125 (basic headshot sessions) to $2500 depending on the collection of your choice. All of my collections include some of the best, edited, high-resolution images delivered in an online gallery. You can download your high-resolution images quickly from there. You’ll get print release on those images which means you can use them almost any way you wish. Use them in your annual family calendar, print them on a canvas to hang on your wall, post them to social media, use them on your Christmas card or other announcements. You can pretty much do anything you want with your photos except take credit for them or enter them into a contest without my permission. While the photos will be yours to use however you wish, the copyright on them will always remain mine.

  • You may Venmo (@stacie-bowers-1), Zelle (614 668-6116), Apple Pay Cash (text 614.668.6116) or mail cash or check directly to me.

  • Nothing. I go through and choose the very best, the ones with real expressions, all eyes open, sharp focus, great lighting, and all that other fun stuff. I’m giving you the very best I have from an experienced photographer’s eye. I’ll never keep a great image from you, I promise. My goal is always to make your heart flutter with joy and gratitude when you see each image!

  • Your photo gallery will be emailed within four weeks of our session.

  • Contact me as soon as you can, and we’ll reschedule when it works for both of us. Life happens, I get it. I’m the Momma of five kids. There’s even a small chance I would need to reschedule although I really try to never let that happen.
